RECORDER CLASS COMPANION
The purpose of the RECORDER CLASS COMPANION is to give the music teacher a variety of highly motivating, ready-to-use short activities. The key is to help students develop essential note-reading skills, understand music concepts, learn music theory, and gain basic music knowledge while learning to play the recorder.
Between its covers, you will find 400 activities and assessments within the major subject areas of the school music curriculum, all skillfully organized into 20 relevant sections. The activities and student assessments represent a written exercise to be performed by the individual student, emphasizing one specific area of music education or skill. Each page contains two half-page written activities within the same content section and can be completed within a few minutes.
The two exercises are divided by dashes in the center of the page to easily fold or cut in half. While one activity is used as a follow-up to the music lesson, the other could be used for students who finish first, for extra credit, for homework, or as an activity for another class period. Most are also ideal for any general music class and when a substitute must take over.
